They say it's the little things and the
finishing touches that matter and that's certainly true within the
world of interior design. Having a room without accessories is like
having toast without butter! It will be bland, boring and barely
palatable. When choosing accessories it's more than just gathering a
few pieces together and hoping they add a little flair to a room,
this approach rarely, if ever, works.
Selecting the right accessories can
make or break the look of a room. You can be adventurous as you like
just so long as you have a common theme and this doesn’t mean you
have to have seashells in the bathroom. Look for accessories that
bring interest and a different texture into the room. Look for pieces
that will add height where it's needed and unless you're going for
the over-crowded look deliberately try to avoid the temptation of
adding too many pieces. Remember that items should be displayed in
odd numbers, 3 and 5 are good for average sized rooms.
I love this intriguing plant, when I
first saw it I thought it was a whimsical way to display knitting
needles!
