Interior Design Trends 2013 – Knitted Soft Furnishings & Accessories

This years trend of using tactile materials and fabrics in our homes includes knitting and embroidery. This isn't 'what grandma used to make' type of knitting, although some of the techniques and stitch patterns remain the same. This year it's about being inventive and creative, just take a look at some interior design blogs and you'll see there's some great ideas to be inspired by.

Interior Design Trends for 2013

This year we see the use of mirrors come to the forefront of trendy interiors. Used by interior designers to make rooms look and feel lighter and airier this year the trend is to do away with one large single and use a grouping of mirrors to create interest and depth to a room – more especially living rooms.

The great aspect about this trend is that it can be used in any style of interior – all you have to do is choose frames and shapes to suit the style of your home.
