Chiffon is a plain lightweight fabric
which can be made from silk or cotton. This sheer fabric's name is
from the French for cloth or rag and is typically used in making
clothes rather than soft furnishings. However, with the increase in
popularity of using sheer lightweight fabrics for curtains or bed
canopies chiffon is being used to create these fluid, semitransparent
window dressings and sensuous drapes for beds.
